HETAS approved stove installation for wood burning stoves, log burners, multi-fuel stoves and solid fuel room heaters. Supply and fit or fit only. Compliance certificate on every installation.
We install all solid fuel room heaters under HETAS registered scope. Appliance type determines the specification requirements — chimney liner diameter, hearth dimensions, air supply, and DEFRA approval status where a smoke control area applies. Every installation begins with a survey that establishes the correct specification before any work is agreed.
All makes and outputs. Survey confirms chimney suitability, smoke control area status, and correct liner diameter. Liner or twin wall connection. Register plate. CO alarm. Commissioning. HETAS certificate.
Log burners and multi-fuel stoves installed to the same HETAS standard. Fuel type affects liner specification — multi-fuel runs hotter than dedicated wood burners and may require 904L grade liner in some configurations.
Inset and freestanding solid fuel room heaters. Constructional hearth requirements assessed at survey. Non-combustible hearth material where qualifying appliances require it under Approved Document J.
If you have already selected and purchased a stove, we carry out the installation. The appliance specification is reviewed at survey stage to confirm the chimney and hearth requirements are met, the correct liner diameter is specified, and the installation can proceed to the HETAS compliance standard. We do not require the appliance to have been purchased from any particular supplier.
If you are at an earlier stage and have not yet chosen an appliance, we advise at survey on output, appliance type, and any smoke control area considerations. In designated smoke control zones across Havering, only DEFRA-exempt appliances can be used when burning wood. We confirm postcode status at survey and recommend compliant appliances where required. We do not supply appliances directly — we advise on specification and the customer sources the appliance independently.
Parts of Havering, including areas within Romford, are designated smoke control zones under the Clean Air Act. In a smoke control area, it is an offence to emit smoke from a chimney when burning unauthorised fuel. The exception is appliances that have been tested and approved as DEFRA-exempt — these can be used in smoke control areas when burning wood.
We confirm smoke control area status at survey for every installation in Romford and Havering. If your postcode falls within a designated zone, only a DEFRA-approved appliance can be specified. The relevant DEFRA approval is confirmed before any installation is agreed.
